About the Role:

We are currently searching for a Commercial Leasing Associate to join our national leasing team at Thomson Geer. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for preparing leases and lease-related documents, including assignments, variations, renewals, surrenders, and other related matters. You will also be acting for both tenants and landlords, demonstrating your expertise in commercial, retail, and telco leasing work.

Our clients include publicly listed companies, property managers, shopping centre owners, other property owners, and government agencies, as well as leading corporates across various sectors. You will work closely with the clients to understand their needs and provide effective solutions. You will also be expected to maintain a high level of attention to detail, work efficiently, and meet tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare leases and lease-related documents, including assignments, variations, renewals, surrenders, and other related matters.
• Act for both tenants and landlords in commercial, retail, and telco leasing work.
• Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide effective solutions.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail and work efficiently to meet tight deadlines.

Requirements:

• Some pre-existing experience with leases and lease-related transactions is desirable but not essential.
• Key skills include an eye for detail, good drafting skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to meet pre-determined deadlines. Good communication and people skills are also an advantage. Legislative and registration requirements can be learned and become second nature in a short period.
• Strong technical skills, exceptional organisational skills, and attention to detail are essential. A desire to work in this field is also important. You will also have a commitment to building strong client relationships and delivering quality and value that contributes to the growth of our leasing unit.
• You are able to work both autonomously and as part of a national team.
