Procurement Officer Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Officer to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all contracts across our aged care services, with a strong emphasis on compliance with the new Aged Care Act and all relevant legislation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the end-to-end procurement process in consultation with contract leads, ensuring full compliance with the new Aged Care Act, relevant legislation, and industry standards.
  • Manage, review, and renew contracts with suppliers and service providers for all aspects of aged care operations, ensuring ongoing legislative compliance.
  • Negotiate favourable terms, prices, and service levels, always seeking value while upholding compliance obligations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and the broader aged care community.
  • Monitor contract performance, risk, and renewal schedules, providing regular reporting to ensure legislative compliance is maintained.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement practices, cost efficiency, and compliance processes.

  • 2-5 years of experience in procurement, contract management, or a related field, ideally within aged care or health services.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to present financial data and comparisons in an easy-to-read format or business case.
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative approach.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality, compliance, and legislative requirements.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
