Design Engineer for Data Center Mechanical Services

This role involves leading mechanical engineering services design, construction, and implementation of data centers that meet global quality and performance standards.

About the Job

The successful candidate will have expertise in utilizing computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to evaluate cooling systems and make informed decisions. They will drive successful project delivery while maintaining high performance standards, reduce costs, and improve efficiency through innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and optimize cooling systems using CFD knowledge to ensure alignment with guidelines.
  • Drive project delivery while maintaining the highest performance standards.
  • Implement strategies to reduce power usage effectiveness (PUE), water consumption, and capital expenditures (CAPEX) while increasing efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain accurate mechanical documentation including narratives, drawings, specifications, etc.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements across the organization.
  • Analyze building energy use and determine capacity and type of cooling system required.
  • Perform CFD modeling on innovative designs.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on the results of those models.
  • Determine water efficiency requirements for site operations.
  • Collaborate with construction and commissioning teams to answer requests for information.
  • Align global mechanical engineering teams on design and CFD modeling standards.
