Your Role?
The Visual Effects Lead is responsible for ensuring the success of our paint and roto team by delivering high-quality results on time and acting as liaison between production and the crew.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist producers, CG supervisors, and production managers with bidding and scheduling.
- Attend dailies and follow up with the team regarding notes and fixes.
- Attend production meetings.
- Assign shots to appropriate artists.
- Provide clear direction and priorities to the crew.
- Monitor shot and sequence progress.
- Motivate and empower the crew to meet deadlines.
- Identify problems and implement effective solutions.
- Quality control elements delivered to compositors.
- Fast and efficient paint/roto on complex shots as needed or time allows.
- Interview and review potential candidates when required.
- Mentor less experienced artists.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 4+ years of experience in feature film VFX work (excluding stereo conversion).
- Nuke experience is mandatory.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities.
- Strong communication skills with artists, supervisors, and managers.
- Strong time management skills in delivering shots.
- Solid organizational skills for prioritizing shot task requests.
- A team player who takes direction well.
- Dependable under pressure with attention to detail.
- Professional in all dealings with production, supervisors, and crew.
