Structural Engineer Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects that contribute directly to the nation's energy future. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will lead and develop structural calculations, foundation, and steel designs from concept through construction.

You will support multi-disciplinary engineering teams on projects ranging from nuclear facilities and combined cycle power plants to site retrofits and upgrades. You will interpret and apply industry codes and standards (ASCE, AISC, IBC, etc.) to ensure safe, high-quality designs.

  • Lead and develop structural calculations, foundation, and steel designs from concept through construction.
  • Support multi-disciplinary engineering teams on projects ranging from nuclear facilities and combined cycle power plants to site retrofits and upgrades.
  • Interpret and apply industry codes and standards (ASCE, AISC, IBC, etc.) to ensure safe, high-quality designs.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 7+ years of experience in structural engineering, with an emphasis on power generation or heavy industrial projects.
  • PE license (any U.S. state); ability to obtain additional state licensure preferred.
  • Proficiency in STAAD Pro, ANSYS, Mathcad, and other structural analysis/design software.
  • Experience with seismic design for nuclear facilities is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with AutoDesk Advance Steel is considered an asset.
