The Oncology Nurse is a key role in the multidisciplinary team at Armidale Rural Referral Hospital, working to provide safe and compassionate care to adult patients undergoing treatment for oncological and haematological conditions.

About this Key Role

This 8-chair unit operates Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays), delivering high-quality outpatient care. Initial supernumerary shifts will support your transition into the role, and ongoing oncology-specific training will be provided.

You will have opportunities to work with Clinical Nurse Consultants, a Nurse Practitioner, a McGrath Cancer Nurse, and Oncology Educators, ensuring patients and their families receive excellent support throughout their treatment journey.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Provide safe and compassionate care to adult patients undergoing treatment for oncological and haematological conditions
  2. Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care
  3. Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients and their families
  4. Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment
About You
  • Accredited in cannulation (highly desirable)
  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications in oncology nursing (or working towards)
