Newborn Hearing Screener Role

As a Newborn Hearing Screener, you will be responsible for conducting hearing screens on newborns in accordance with protocols and procedures. This is a permanent part-time position located in Geelong for 24 hours per fortnight within the Victorian Infant Hearing Screening Program.

About the Position

The successful candidate will work weekly on Tuesday and Wednesday, and fortnightly on Monday. This role requires flexibility to work at multiple hospital sites in a region as needed.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct hearing screens on newborns in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and other team members while maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to program procedures and protocols for safety and accuracy.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with families and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in data entry and administrative tasks.
  • Experience working in a hospital environment or similar setting.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
