Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Tester/Integrator to join our Traffic Management System Validation and Verification Engineers team.

The position is based in Brisbane, Australia. You will work in a diverse and multicultural team focused on testing and integration of software-intensive systems, applying software verification and validation best practices and safety-critical techniques based on international standards.

  • Develop effective test plans and execute Factory and Site Tests to verify and validate against system requirements, architecture, interfaces and operating scenarios.
  • Create detailed test cases through thorough technical analysis of functional and non-functional specifications.
  • Increase automation of software testing within a continuous integration environment.
  • Support the coordination of systems requirements management activities.
  • Contribute to the issuance of test and integration plans and monitor project activities and indicators.
  • Maintain a list of project issues and ensure discussion and agreement with the Project Engineer and Project Manager.
  • Collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds to achieve high-quality outcomes.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Systems or Software Engineering or Information Technology.
  • Rail Industry Worker card and competencies (current or eligible to obtain).
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within the rail signalling field.
  • Aptitude for automated testing of integrated systems.
  • Strong logical reasoning and problem investigation/solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality test artefacts.
  • Aptitude for manual and automated testing of an integrated system.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development lifecycle.
  • Extensive software language knowledge for server side, front end and DevOps.
  • Experience with programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python, Selenium.
  • Working knowledge of software platforms (e.g., Linux, VMware, Podman/Docker).
  • Competence with relational database technologies (e.g., MySQL, MariaDB).
  • Understanding of various network topologies.
