About the RoleYou will be working closely with a cross-functional team to drive and manage a research and development program in our state-of-the-art lab.
This hands-on role requires a broad skill set, including the design, integration, and operation of atomic quantum sensors.
- Provide technical guidance and direction to a team of physicists and engineers
- Design and prototype optical, mechanical, and electronics subsystems
- Optimize and ruggedize atomic sensors for practical applications
- Integrate, optimize, and deploy atomic sensors in real-world environments
We are seeking an exceptional candidate who is an impossibly fast learner and can demonstrate the following skillset:
- PhD in atomic, molecular, or quantum physics
- Familiarity with laser spectroscopy, laser-cooling, and atom interferometry of atomic species
- Aptitude towards programming and automation, with competence in Python for lab instrumentation, control systems, and data analysis
- Expertise in ultra-high vacuum systems
- Narrow linewidth lasers and frequency stabilization
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
