Disability Support Worker

We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate individuals to join our team as Disability Support Workers. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting people with disabilities to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

About the Role

This is a full-time permanent position based in Cairns, working 38 hours per week. You will be responsible for providing support to participants with disabilities, helping them to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist participants with daily living tasks, such as personal care and household chores.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to support participants' goals and aspirations.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to participants.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, such as case managers and therapists, to ensure comprehensive support is provided.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support or Disability (or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and able to lift and move equipment and participants as needed.
