Job Title: Community Engagement Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Community Engagement Specialist in Cairns. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting participants with disabilities, aged individuals, children, and young adults in their daily lives.

You will work closely with participants to understand their needs, goals, and aspirations, and develop personalized plans to support them in achieving their desired outcomes. This may involve assisting with daily activities, facilitating social interactions, and providing emotional support and companionship.

Your role will also involve working collaboratively with other professionals, including healthcare providers, educators, and family members, to ensure a holistic approach to participant care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support participants with daily activities, such as personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation
  • Facilitate social interactions and provide emotional support and companionship
  • Develop and implement personalized plans to support participants in achieving their desired outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to participant care
  • Monitor and report on participant progress and well-being
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Certificate III in Individual Support or Disability Studies
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with participants and colleagues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical fitness and ability to participate in outdoor activities
  • First Aid Certificate (an advantage)
