We are seeking an experienced Environmental Project Officer to join our team at Downer, based in Wagga Wagga. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering environmental aspects of our Land Management and Capability services to the Department of Defence in the SNSW/QLD Region.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading provider of environmental services to the Defence sector. As an Environmental Project Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing Environmental Management Plans within our Environmental Management System Framework, in accordance with Defence Environmental Management System (EMS) and Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) System requirements.
- Ensuring all environmental works undertaken by our staff and subcontractors are in compliance with the Contract and site-specific Environmental Management Plans.
- Preparing and evaluating tender documentation for environmental works, and engaging with stakeholders as required.
- Managing Land Management services effectively and within agreed budgetary guidelines.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in environmental science or a related field. The ideal candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or a related field.
- Suitability for Defence security clearance, including Australian Citizenship.
- Hands-on environmental experience in a similar environment.
- Knowledge of the Defence industry (desirable).
- Involvement with relevant environmental panels or committees (desirable).
