About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Residential Support Worker. In this role, you will provide quality support and services to people with mental illness who live in supported accommodation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Provide client-focused support that is sensitive to individual needs and promotes independence.">
  • Assist clients to maintain key organisational and other relationships, which facilitate independent living.">
  • Increase access and equity for clients within a collaborative recovery model of psychosocial rehabilitation.">
  • Assist clients to improve daily living skills, including personal hygiene and healthy living habits.">
  • Encourage clients to participate in daily household tasks and build productive relationships.">
  • Mentor clients in conflict resolution strategies and promote their rights and responsibilities.">
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, government agencies, and community services to promote the recovery journey.">

Requirements:

  • ">
  • Cert IV in mental health or community services related discipline (ideally a completed diploma or Bachelors)">
  • Demonstrated effective listening, empathy, and communication skills">
  • Experience working with people experiencing mental illness">
  • Ability to think and act calmly and deal sensitively with distressed individuals">
  • Understanding of duty of care, rights to privacy, and confidentiality">
  • Ability to work with families, carers, government agencies, and community services">
  • Competence with Microsoft Office">
  • Availability for overnight shifts and rotating 24/7 roster">
  • Eligibility to apply/currently hold WWCC and NDIS worker screening clearance">
  • Current driver's license">
