Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced Solar Energy Systems Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role requires a hands-on approach to assembling, installing, and maintaining our solar and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Workshop Functions: Undertake electrical workshop functions, including installing assemblies for protection relays, metering, and indicating devices.
  • System Assembly and Installation: Assemble, install, test, calibrate, modify, and repair electrical equipment and installations to comply with regulations and safety standards.
  • Design and Layout: Prepare drawings, plans, and diagrams for electrical installations and circuitry, and assist in the design and layout of electrical installations and circuitry, particularly for substations, switchgear, cabling systems, and motor control systems.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct data collection, perform tests, and execute complex calculations; graph results and prepare charts and tabulations.
  • Materials Estimation: Estimate materials required for projects and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect designs and finished products for compliance with specifications and regulations.
  • Research and Development: Assist with research and experimental programs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A formal electrical qualification is required, although relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
  • Proven experience in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in preparing detailed documentation and compliance with safety procedures.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

Work Location:

  • This position is based in Canberra, ACT, and requires in-person attendance.

Compensation:

  • $70,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience.

Preferred Credentials:

  • Work authorization in Australia.
