Transformational Leader Wanted for a Dynamic Inner-City Council

The city seeks an exceptional Chief Executive Officer who embodies the same values as the community. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a council that genuinely collaborates with its citizens.

  • Main responsibilities include implementing directions consistent with the Council Plan, Long-Term Financial Plan, Annual Budget, and Capital Works Program.
  • The CEO will effectively manage human, physical, and financial resources, providing services efficiently, effectively, and meeting customer needs and Council requirements.
  • They will lead a high-performing workplace culture and administer legal, statutory, risk, and compliance obligations.

To succeed in this role, the CEO must be curious, empathetic, trustworthy, and have great integrity and business ethics. They should also be an optimist who sees what is possible and strives to deliver on behalf of the Council.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High-level executive experience.
  • A strong understanding of local government operations and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a democracy.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly accomplished CEO or senior executive to make a meaningful impact on the city's future. The successful candidate will be offered a contract of up to 5 years, with a remuneration package within the industry range for Band 2 Local Government CEOs.
