We are looking for a highly skilled Communications Coordinator to join our team at the University of New South Wales. As a key member of our External Communications team, you will play a critical role in shaping our message and telling the story of our research, achievements and events to the world.

Your responsibilities will include creating and sharing compelling communications with external media and stakeholders, as well as internal audiences. You will work closely with our Communications Manager - External to craft messages that inspire and inform, and use your expertise in public relations, communications or journalism to distill complex information into straightforward messages for communication.

This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with some of the brightest minds on groundbreaking projects that drive transformation. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Create and share compelling communications with external media and stakeholders
  • Write press releases and liaise with a broad range of media to place stories demonstrating the positive impact of UNSW staff, students and projects
  • Work both on reactive and proactive stories, with an excellent grasp of current political and social affairs
  • Help facilitate media training for UNSW academic and professional staff, and develop the communication abilities of our public-facing colleagues
