Academic Lead in Field Education

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Academic Lead in Field Education to oversee the preparation and delivery of lectures and field education placements for our students. This is a permanent full-time position based at our Macquarie Park campus.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure sufficient placement opportunities with non-government agencies and government agencies (Federal, State and Local)

- Supervise and assess Practicum Placements/Field Education as directed by the Head of School and according to assessment guidelines

- Provide administrative support to the Head of School and other academic staff within the School

Selection Criteria

- Hold a postgraduate qualification in a relevant Social Work discipline

- Experience in field education either as a Field Educator (Supervisor) and/or Field Education Liaison Officer

- Experience teaching in a tertiary setting

- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a qualified Social Worker

- Member or eligible to be a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers

Essential:

- Committed Christian with involvement in a local congregation

- Proven record of professional activities and research publications

- Understanding of current trends in education and Social Work

- Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication, information literacy, prioritisation and meeting deadlines
