Job Description:

This senior construction project manager position plays a crucial role in the delivery of industrial projects in Western Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing construction activities, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring quality, cost, and schedule targets are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Construction Manager as needed to ensure successful project execution
  • Develop and implement effective construction processes and procedures to drive efficiency and productivity
  • Provide technical oversight, supervision, and assistance at manufacturing, fabrication, and installation sites
  • Review project deliverables focusing on constructability and commissioning input to ensure seamless project progression
  • Prepare comprehensive construction execution plans, scopes of work, schedules, and mobilisation requirements to support project success
  • Contribute to cost estimates and project budgets to ensure financial stability
  • Lead constructability reviews and input to project execution plans to identify potential risks and opportunities
  • Support procurement and subcontract teams with scope definitions, evaluations, and awards to ensure optimal outcomes
  • Liaise between contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to foster strong relationships and ensure timely delivery
  • Provide regular progress reports for project management and stakeholders to maintain transparency and accountability
  • Manage planning and design stages of construction projects to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives
  • E nsure safe, high-quality, and environmentally responsible execution of construction activities to meet industry standards
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's degree or relevant trade qualification
  • Formal training in project management (PMP or equivalent) is highly desirable
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in oil and gas or industrial plant construction with at least 10 years focused on construction leadership roles
  • A strong background in SMP (structural, mechanical, piping) construction is essential
  • Demonstrated success on Australian onshore construction projects is highly valued
  • Proven ability to manage cost, schedule, and risk in complex construction environments
  • Strong problem-solving, organisational, and leadership skills
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office and construction management databases
  • Effective English communication skills (oral and written)
