Job Overview

The Operations Supervisor role is critical to maintaining safety, efficiency, and operational alignment. This individual will oversee the safe and efficient loading of freight for a key mining contract at Hazelmere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and embed a culture that prioritises employee safety ensuring adherence to relevant systems and customer requirements.
  • Lead and supervise loading teams to achieve freight dispatch Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), maximise payloads, and meet accuracy and compliance standards.
  • Oversee trailer allocation and ensure efficient utilisation of fleet resources in coordination with the transport team.
  • Maintain strict compliance with Chain of Responsibility and dangerous goods handling requirements.
  • Foster team capability through training, coaching, and recognition of positive behaviour.
  • Provide clear handovers to back-to-back supervisors and operations management to ensure seamless 24/7 operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in loading processes, load planning, and the use of SAP and other warehouse systems.
Requirements
  • Solid supervisory or leadership experience in logistics, transport, or warehouse operations.
  • A high-level understanding of load restraint, mass/dimensional compliance, dangerous goods handling, and Chain of Responsibility.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in staff training, coaching, and performance management.
  • An ability to build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and open communication.
  • A customer-focused mindset with excellent communication skills.
  • SAP or warehouse system experience is desirable.
