Job Overview

The Operations Supervisor will oversee the safe and efficient loading of freight at a major logistics hub. This role involves leading a high-performing team to ensure trailers are loaded correctly, fully manifested, and ready for departures.

Key responsibilities include promoting a safety-first culture, adhering to safety systems and legislative obligations, and fostering team capability through training, coaching, and recognition of safe behaviour.

  • Promote a safety-first culture, adhering to safety systems, legislative obligations, and customer requirements.
  • Lead and supervise loading teams to achieve freight dispatch KPIs, maximise payloads, and meet accuracy and compliance standards.
  • Oversee trailer allocation and ensure efficient utilisation of fleet resources in coordination with the transport team.
  • Maintain strict compliance with Chain of Responsibility and DG handling requirements.
Requirements
  • A proven operator with strong leadership and hands-on experience in freight loading, warehouse, or transport operations.
  • Solid supervisory or leadership experience in logistics, transport, or warehouse operations.
  • High-level understanding of load restraint, mass/dimensional compliance, DG handling, and Chain of Responsibility.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in staff training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Ability to build a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication skills.
  • SAP or warehouse system experience (desirable).
