Research Assistant

This role provides a range of technical and specialist skills and services, which support the work of the Research Team on various projects related to breeding, physiology and agronomy of rice.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct scientifically sound data collection procedures.
- Contribute to the safe and efficient operations of research equipment, infrastructure, methodologies and protocols.
- Manage glasshouse and field experiments.
- Operate plant physiology equipment and methodologies.
- Develop research documentation and administrative processes.
- Prepare basic graphs and figures for presentations and manuscripts.
- Provide general research support, including ordering and maintaining consumables.
- Participate in research group meetings.

We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in management of glasshouse and field experiments, and an understanding of the conduct of scientifically sound data collection procedures.
You'll need to have:
- Completion of a Year Twelve or Diploma qualification, or a Certificate IV with relevant work experience.
- Foundational knowledge of management of glasshouse and field experiments.
- An understanding of the conduct of scientifically sound data collection procedures.
- Computer and database literacy skills, including the Microsoft Office suite.
- High level inter-personal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Commitment to excellence and an ability to work diligently with a high level of accuracy.
- Knowledge of relevant occupational health and safety.
