Research Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Research Assistant to join our team at The University of Queensland. The successful candidate will support the work of our Research Team on various projects related to breeding, physiology, and agronomy of rice.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct data collection procedures with a focus on scientific rigor and accuracy.
- Contribute to the safe and efficient operation of research equipment, infrastructure, methodologies, and protocols.
- Manage glasshouse and field experiments, ensuring timely completion and data quality.
- Utilize plant physiology equipment and methodologies to collect and analyze data.
- Develop and maintain research documentation and administrative processes.
- Prepare visual aids for presentations and manuscripts, including graphs and figures.
- Provide general research support, including ordering and maintaining consumables.
- Participate in research group meetings and contribute to team discussions.
- A strong foundation in managing glasshouse and field experiments.
- An understanding of scientifically sound data collection procedures.
- Computer and database literacy skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills.
This is a full-time position based at our Campus, with occasional travel to St Lucia when required. The University of Queensland's Gatton Campus has a rich history, dating back over 125 years, and offers a range of facilities, including a medical clinic and post office.
