Job Overview

Airborne Solutions Australia provides aerial surveillance services under contract to the Australian Border Force as the largest civil maritime surveillance operation of its kind in the world, and a search-and rescue capability across nearly 10 percent of the earth's surface under Australian Maritime Safety Authority.

The Maintenance Watch / AOG - Team Members are responsible for coordinating and providing technical liaison for Line Maintenance activities, including after-hours logistics support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and comply with relevant safety protocols.
  • Maximise aircraft availability by coordinating timely defect rectification.
  • Monitor and manage deferred defects on a daily basis.
  • Provide support to maintenance organisation Line Engineers for difficult or ongoing defects.
  • Authorise ferry flights outside of normal working hours.
  • Manage the supply chain for after-hours critical defect requisitions.
  • Maintain a Handover Log for continuity of operations.

Foster close working relationships with Flight Operations for technical advice.

The position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.

Required qualifications include tertiary technical qualifications in a mechanical or electrical discipline. Experience in an Aircraft Maintenance environment is essential, with experience in aircraft operations desirable.

Knowledge of aviation maintenance and operations environment is essential, with knowledge of aircraft systems and CASA regulations highly desirable.

Prioritisation, communication, and project management skills are required.

Requirements
  • Tertiary technical qualification in a mechanical or electrical discipline
  • LAME or AME qualifications desirable
  • Experience in Aircraft Maintenance environment essential
  • Experience in aircraft operations desirable
  • Good knowledge of aviation maintenance and operations environment
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems and CASA regulations highly desirable
  • Prioritisation, communication, and project management skills required
