First Nations Social and Emotional Wellbeing Researcher

Seeking a motivated and experienced researcher to contribute to the advancement of First Nations Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) research.

This is an identified Indigenous position that focuses on advancing research in First Nations SEWB and contributing to the SEWB research program. The role involves leading and contributing to research focused on First Nations SEWB across identified focus areas, collaborating within a multidisciplinary academic community, developing and leading studies, investigating culturally informed interventions, and mentoring junior researchers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and contribute to research projects focused on First Nations SEWB.
  • Collaborate with researchers, policymakers, and community stakeholders to advance knowledge and practice in SEWB.
  • Develop and lead high-quality research studies that address critical issues in First Nations SEWB.
  • Investigate and evaluate culturally informed interventions and programs that promote SEWB.
  • Mentor junior researchers and provide guidance on research design, methodology, and dissemination.
Requirements:
  • Identification as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
  • A PhD in a related discipline or relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in research on First Nations SEWB with a strong track record of publishing high-quality, culturally relevant outputs.
  • Proven ability to lead research teams and mentor researchers in culturally diverse or interdisciplinary settings.
  • Strong understanding of the cultural, social, and historical contexts influencing First Nations SEWB.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in the field of SEWB.
