Melbourne, Victoria, Australia ISelect Full time

We're investing in the future of our 'Utilities stream' by modernising our technology to streamline processes and cut down on manual tasks. This includes a full tech stack rebuild and the launch of a dozen new, customer-focused features to deliver outstanding experiences.

Our goal is to make Australians' lives easier by saving them time, money, and effort. When it comes to big things, like health cover, car insurance or energy providers, we take on the hard work to make it easier – giving our customers back precious time so they can do more of what they love.

The Role

The Cloud Technology Architect will be responsible for a comprehensive high-level view of solutions from conception to implementation, ensuring they meet requirements and align with overarching technology strategies and enterprise architecture guidelines.

  • Developing and maintaining target state architectures and roadmaps
  • Conducting high-level research and analysis to identify future ICT trends and assess their applicability
  • Defining best practices to ensure assets are fit for purpose
  • Cultivating relationships with key stakeholders to align strategies with business needs

This role requires extensive experience in designing solutions and applying patterns and standards in cloud environments (AWS) within Agile and Waterfall frameworks (Agile certification preferred).

Additionally, you'll need proven track record in architecting application, integration, and data solutions across various industries (preferably Energy), strong knowledge of diverse technologies, including databases, RESTful APIs, automation, CI/CD, and Dev Ops, along with common application and integration methodologies.

As a team player, you'll also possess excellent teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation abilities, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.

You should have strong analytical skills with a focus on developing prototypes from conceptual designs to working proof-of-concepts, eagerness to experiment with new ideas and rapidly develop prototypes to overcome technical challenges.

With over 5 years in the IT industry, including lead or senior roles, and a Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience), you'll be well-suited for this role.
