Software Development Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable, reusable object-oriented systems and components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Software Solutions: Develop scalable, reusable object-oriented systems and components.
  • Write Clean Code: Write clean, modular, and well-documented code for easy reuse in future projects.
  • Develop Web Applications: Develop web applications, middleware, and integrate third-party systems to fulfill business needs.
  • Collaborate with the Team: Work with the team to plan, prioritize project iterations, and track progress toward objectives.
  • Ensure Code Quality: Develop automated tests to ensure code quality and stability.
  • Engage in Code Reviews: Engage in code reviews and design discussions for new features.
  • Maintain Live Systems: Provide ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and support for live production systems to ensure optimal performance and continuous operation.

Requirements
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in commercial Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) with Java in a highly technical environment.
  • Expert in developing and consuming REST services, with proficiency in React, Angular or Angular.js, and other MVC frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and logical abilities with a deep understanding of design patterns, Java MVC frameworks, and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas and concepts clearly.
  • Dedicated to meeting deadlines and staying current with the latest web-scale technologies.
  • Experience with Scrum or Extreme Programming project methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
