About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer to join our team at Griffith University. As a key member of our IT operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, resilience, and security of our platforms and business operations.

Your primary focus will be on managing the availability, capacity, and service levels of our platforms, as well as providing support to development and implementation teams through testing, systems integration, configuration, and installation.

You will also contribute to the ongoing improvement of our Platform Engineering practices, methods, and tools, and work closely with projects and product teams to support and enhance their software delivery processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and monitor pre-production and production application and integration environments/platforms
  • Work with projects, product teams, and vendors to implement and/or support integrations between on-prem systems or hybrid integrations with third-party solutions
  • Support, install, configure, upgrade, and patch applications
  • Use observability tools to create checks, dashboards, and surface key metrics to support product teams
  • Use DevOps methodology and tools such as Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy, and PHIRE to manage releases on key enterprise platforms
  • Automate repeatable processes
  • Work with projects and product teams to support and enhance their software delivery processes
About You
  • You have a can-do attitude and enjoy working as part of a fun, supportive team
  • You have a desire to work with and learn a broad range of technologies and platforms, with the ability to specialise in a few key areas
  • You are a versatile IT professional with a background as either an Enterprise Applications Engineer, Integration Specialist, DevOps Engineer, or similar
  • You have demonstrated technical competency, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • You have familiarity with change management processes
  • You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders
