AWS Data Platform Specialist Role Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a AWS Data Platform Engineer focused on data-driven or migration projects that help organisations build, develop and deploy data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Migrate from Cloudera to AWS native data services with a strong focus on HMS and Glue.
  • Ensure seamless integration of data across various platforms and services, maintaining data integrity and consistency.
  • Automate data migration and synchronisation processes and workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers and platform engineers to ensure cohesive and efficient operations.
  • Assist in building out incident response plans and resilience documentation for knowledge transfer and use in platform certification.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience with AWS Glue, AWS Lake Formation, and AWS EMR.
  • Strong background in data migration projects, particularly from Cloudera to AWS native data services.
  • Proficiency in AWS services such as S3, Redshift, and Athena.
  • In-depth knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
