Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Plan and execute production cycles to meet retail market demands, ensuring optimal crop yields and quality.
  • Coordinate tasks related to crop production, marketing, and sales, considering costs and financial efficiency.
  • Monitor and maintain optimal growing conditions through Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies, irrigation management, and cost/benefit analysis.
  • Organise the sale and dispatch of plant orders according to company standards.
  • Supervise internal marketing strategies to ensure coordination and standardisation across departments.
  • Act as a communication channel for staff feedback, fostering a positive work environment and employee development.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completion of a Certificate II or III in Horticulture or relevant qualifications.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a similar role.
  • Deep understanding of various plant species, including growth requirements, cultivation techniques, and pest control methods.
  • Proficiency in plant propagation techniques such as seeding, grafting, and cloning to ensure consistent and healthy plant stock.
  • Knowledge of soil composition, fertilization, and irrigation practices to optimise plant health and growth.
  • Ability to identify and address common pests and diseases affecting plants, employing integrated pest management strategies.
