
Water Network Operations Specialist

Job Overview
This role plays a pivotal part in the delivery of maintenance and operational tasks on water, wastewater, stormwater, and recycled networks.
The position is responsible for planning and scheduling of maintenance and operations activities, working collaboratively with relevant teams to achieve customer, stakeholder, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and oversee the maintenance work program in partnership with key stakeholders, ensuring that customer, environmental, and business outcomes are achieved
- Lead the planning and scheduling function, providing best practice resource planning and allocation
- Facilitate customer feedback loop discussions across teams and initiate process improvements to enhance the customer experience
- Provide expertise to ensure minimal customer impact from daily maintenance activities
- Coordinate proactive communications to customers affected by water supply interruptions or maintenance activities
- Offer 24/7 response capability for network-related faults
- Liaise with other authorities and contractors to facilitate timely repair work
About You
- A tertiary qualification in engineering, or 6-10 years' experience in utility network operations and maintenance/renewal, or equivalent experience deemed suitable
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex relationships with customers, regulators, and stakeholders
- Leadership experience in a team environment, with the ability to mentor and develop teams, and operate effectively within a wider management team
- Demonstrated experience in emergency and incident management, including the ability to be contactable 24/7 and lead incident response, or equivalent experience deemed suitable
- Sound knowledge of industry best practices, including broad understanding of water industry trends and systems maintenance
- High-level communication skills, using highly developed written and verbal communication abilities
