Arts and Culture Manager

About the Role

The Arts and Culture Manager is responsible for leading the strategic delivery of arts, events, and cultural programs. This includes managing key assets such as public art, community events, and cultural venues to enrich local life and drive the visitor economy.

  • Inspire and lead a multidisciplinary team, fostering a high-performing, creative culture.
  • Deliver bold, inclusive, and innovative cultural programming that drives community vibrancy and economic growth.
  • Manage key venues and partnerships, including The Concourse and Zenith Theatre.
  • Lead marketing and sponsorship strategies that grow reach, revenue, and recognition.
  • Build strategic partnerships with artists, First Nations communities, schools, and creative industries.
  • Secure external funding through grants, philanthropy, and business cases.
  • Monitor cultural performance and insights to guide continuous improvement.
  • Ensure governance and compliance across venues, programs, and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cultural strategies that align with Council's values and objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high-quality cultural programs and events.
  • Manage budgets and resources to ensure effective use of Council's funding.
  • Foster partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and community groups.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Arts Administration, Cultural Management, Event Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven success delivering large-scale arts, events, or cultural programs in complex environments.
  • Strong skills in audience development, sponsorship acquisition, and strategic marketing.
  • Solid financial management experience, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills.
