Job Title

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter/Handyperson/Locksmith Technician to join our team.

The role involves undertaking day-to-day preventative maintenance activities and breakdown repairs in a safe and efficient manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and liveability in our Newman Residential Houses and Eco Villages.

  • Undertake regular inspections of plant and equipment;
  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development;
  • Ensure adequate scoping of corrective work to facilitate the planning process;
  • Cultivate positive relationships through effective communication and consultation;
  • Take a proactive role in maintaining appropriate standards of behaviour;
  • Participate within the Housing Department to implement business plans consistent with site strategies/plans;
  • Monitor the Housing Maintenance work plan and elevate unplanned and non-routine activity or performance to the Supervisor;
  • Perform all aspects of planned, breakdown and shutdown activities in regard to housing maintenance;
  • Carry out system generated inspections.
Requirements
  • Trade Qualification;
  • Valid Australian C class driver's license;
  • HIAB, EWP, Forklift, Working at Heights, Dogging and Rigging Certificates (Desirable);
  • Mix of experience in both Domestic work and Mining Operations;
  • Computer Literacy to use SAP, Fiori, MS Excel and Word;
  • A proven track record of safety management;
  • Must be able to work at a high standard autonomously;
  • Must be able to work successfully in a team environment and assist other trades where required;
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.

This is a mid-senior level position working full-time in the management and manufacturing industry within the mining sector.
