Lead a Team of Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners

Relationships Australia NSW is seeking an experienced and compassionate leader to join our Family Relationship Centre as a Team Leader and FDR Practitioner. In this key role, you will provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to a dedicated team of Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners and Family Advisors, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, culturally inclusive services to families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Centre Manager to continually enhance the effectiveness and quality of the FRC program
  • Lead and support a team of Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners and Family Advisors, ensuring that clients receive high-quality support and mediation services
  • Offer leadership and guidance to your team, assisting with inquiries, and ensuring smooth operations and outstanding service delivery
  • Provide clinical supervision and conduct competency assessments for nominated supervisees, ensuring that best practices are consistently followed
Requirements:
  • Registration with the Australian Government Attorney General's Department Register of Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners is essential
  • Minimum 4 – 5 years working as Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner/Mediator, working with families in a post-separation context
  • Proven leadership experience with expertise in supervision, guiding teams to achieve high standards of practice and service delivery
  • Collaborative team player who fosters a supportive environment, motivating and empowering peers and junior staff to excel
  • Advanced skills in family dispute resolution, with extensive experience in conducting assessments and delivering mediation interventions
  • Child-focused approach in mediation, ensuring the needs and voices of children are central in resolving family conflicts
  • Strong understanding of relationship dynamics, domestic and family violence, child safety, trauma-informed practice, diversity awareness, and mental health and wellbeing
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in the human services area (e.g. social work, psychology), law, or other relevant qualifications
