Job Description:

The Senior Clinician, Drug and Alcohol role requires an individual to provide specialist drug and alcohol evidence-based interventions to patients in a custodial setting. This involves care planning, targeted individual and group interventions, and multidisciplinary liaison with relevant teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
  • Design and deliver training programs to enhance the skills of healthcare professionals working within the drug and alcohol services sector.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote best practice in drug and alcohol service delivery.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of contemporary psychosocial interventions relating to drug and alcohol treatment, as well as experience in the provision of D&A services.

A successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their ability to support patients with complex needs and work effectively within a supportive environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, social work, nursing) and/or relevant postgraduate qualifications. They should also hold current registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., AHPRA).

Experience working within a custodial setting and knowledge of contemporary drug and alcohol treatment modalities are highly desirable.
