
Injury Management Specialist

As a highly skilled Injury Management Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in fostering positive return-to-work outcomes for employees, line managers, and external stakeholders. Collaborating closely with our HR and operational teams, you will coordinate workers' compensation claims, manage injury reporting processes, and ensure compliance with state legislation.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough investigations into workplace injuries to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and implement strategies to manage workers' compensation claims from lodgement through to closure, ensuring timely and cost-effective resolutions.
- Work closely with medical practitioners, insurers, and internal teams to support injured employees in returning to work safely and efficiently.
- Provide expert advice and coaching to line managers and supervisors on claims handling and injury management best practices.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, case notes, and documentation in Solv.
- Facilitate the reimbursement process with Payroll and Finance in coordination with the insurer.
- Design and deliver training sessions on claims, return-to-work procedures, and compliance requirements for internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of National Job Dictionary and Injury Management Packs.
- Participate in quarterly insurer file reviews and state-based injury management reviews to drive continuous improvement.
- 1-2 years' experience in injury management or workers' compensation, preferably across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong knowledge of South Australian Workers Compensation legislation, with familiarity across other state and national frameworks desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including employees, managers, medical professionals, and insurers.
- Experience in developing return-to-work plans and driving early intervention strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
- Solid time management and organisational abilities, with a proactive mindset and commitment to continuous learning.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and case management systems, such as Solv.
- A commitment to safe work practices, inclusion, and diversity.
