About This Opportunity

We are seeking experienced individuals to fill Underground Operator positions at a high-quality coal mine in the Hunter Valley.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate various types of underground mining equipment, including continuous miners, roof bolters, shuttle cars, and load-haul-dump (LHD) machines.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maximize productivity and minimize downtime through effective monitoring and management of the mining process.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with team members and supervisors to coordinate operations effectively.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of operations and report any incidents or irregularities.

About You

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in Underground Longwall Coal Mining is required.
  • Current competency in the operation of plant or equipment in underground coal mining is essential.
  • A proven track record of safely working in an underground mining environment is necessary.
  • A strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in coal mining is crucial.
  • The ability to work in a physically demanding environment and handle heavy equipment is required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for this role.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are necessary for success in this position.
