Job Title: Assistant Collection Manger, Mineralogy

Job Highlights:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to assist the Senior Collection Manager in managing, developing and reporting on the Mineral collection.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mineralogy and a passion for collections management. Key responsibilities include ensuring the proper care and storage of items, digitisation processes and documenting specimens through paper-based and digital systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop and report on the Mineral collection in line with strategic and collections management policies.
  • Ensure the proper care and storage of items in the Earth Sciences Collections.
  • Digitise collections information and establish standardised data management practices.
  • Document specimens through maintaining, linking and refining both paper-based and digital systems.
  • Contribute to the promotion and interpretation of the Earth Sciences Collections to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent level of experience in mineralogy.
  • National Criminal History check.
