Retail General Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Retail General Manager to lead our GAZMAN business to the next level of growth and success. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business development, expansion strategies, and ensuring maximum efficiency, effectiveness, and growth across all aspects of the business.
Key Responsibilities- Provide over-arching leadership and general management of the GAZMAN business, ensuring maximum efficiency, effectiveness, and growth.
- Contribute to and deliver on a cohesive company strategy and vision, driving business development and expansion strategies to strengthen the company's market position.
- Directly oversee a highly capable team and senior leaders across all functions of the business, ensuring alignment with the company strategy and providing leadership, mentoring, and development opportunities.
- Act as the custodian of the culture and heartbeat of the organisation, ensuring the business remains an 'employer of choice' and decision-making is guided by core organisational values of honesty, integrity, ethics, and respect.
- Proven GM level experience, ideally in a 'like for like' role within a small to medium retail organisation.
- A variety of industry backgrounds will be considered, with a focus on soft goods (textiles and/or apparel) and/or homewares, and a deep understanding of retail trading and manufacturing/production environments.
- Understanding of the nuances of a family business, with a passion for delivering sustainable results and a customer-centric mentality.
- Proven ability to articulate a clear vision, develop plans, targets, and timelines to drive business growth, and a leadership style that listens, learns, and builds relationships.
- Sound business acumen and experience managing significant P&L's, with a deep understanding of financial levers across all areas.
- Authentic, calm, humble, and down-to-earth, with a non-hierarchical approach and a focus on team success.
- Highly trustworthy, credible, and available, with a strong ability to build relationships and gain trust, especially in the early stages.
