Water Systems Model Developer

Our water services team is seeking an experienced model developer to join their dynamic group.

This role involves providing expertise in creating, maintaining and implementing complex models for water, wastewater and stormwater systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering relevant to the water industry and be able to think critically and strategically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and maintain regulatory compliance of models
  • Develop and maintain defined model life cycle plans
  • Create new models and implement changes as required
  • Provide modelling expertise to the team
  • Document and support upgrades to existing models
  • Prioritise activities for continuous improvement in model quality and outcomes

Requirements:

  • A degree qualification with 3+ years' experience or equivalent industry experience
  • Thorough understanding of model services, practices, and procedures
  • Strong project leadership, management, and interpersonal skills
  • Engineering background relevant to the water industry
  • Ability to meet project milestones and deadlines

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of hydraulic modelling tools and input databases
  • Technical expertise in calibrating models for planning support tools

Working Experience:

  • Assessing system performance, identifying performance gaps, and setting targets
  • Using models for servicing strategies, detailed planning, and investment plans
