About The Role

The Next Step is seeking a seasoned Workplace Relations specialist to join their team as a Strategic Workplace Relations Leader. Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you will be responsible for establishing and managing the employee and industrial relations function for this growing business.

Key responsibilities include developing the Workplace Relations strategy and executable plan, establishing foundations of policies and guidelines, building a positive environment during complex organisational change, providing support and expert advice to the business on all industrial and employee relations matters, owning the central relationship with the unions, and leading key negotiations.

About Success

Establishing a function that promotes and enables a progressive culture, coaching line managers, and providing effective industrial and employee relations solutions, employee engagement, and legal compliance are key to your success.

This newly created position will also play a critical role in managing an upcoming business transition and people integration activities.

About You

You are a credible expert in workplace relations, recognised for your strong understanding and application of current employment law and industrial relations practices. Your experience in business integration activities and managing transitional agreements is highly valued. As a naturally consultative leader, you possess strong relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills, along with a flexible approach to problem-solving, best practice, and balancing policy and business issues to provide pragmatic solutions.
