We are seeking an experienced Rowing Coach to lead our Junior and Intermediate Rowing teams at Caulfield Grammar School. As a member of the Associated Public Schools (APS) and Associated Grammar Schools of Victoria (AGSV), we value excellence, creativity, diversity, and wholeheartedness in our staff.

About the Role

This is a 6-month fixed-term contract position, commencing in October. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the girls and boys Junior & Intermediate Rowing teams, providing high-quality coaching and ensuring effective implementation of school policies and values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend all training and fixture commitments, with potential pre-season and holiday training.
  • Assist in planning the training and competition program in conjunction with the Senior Head Coach Rowing.
  • Develop technical skill, fitness, teamwork, and leadership capabilities for students.
  • Support the development of camp training plans, supervision, and regattas.
  • Provide performance feedback and analysis to students while supporting other senior crews as required by the Senior Head Coach Rowing.
  • Ensure equitable opportunities for students to achieve their highest potential during the season and demonstrate capacity and progress on merit.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Able to implement a structured program for students.
  • Rowing coaching experience at Secondary School level or in Community Sport.
  • Desirable experience coaching junior athletes.
  • Experience in administration duties and interpersonal communication with stakeholders, including students, parents, and CGS staff.
  • Level 1 First Aid and Anaphylaxis Certification or willingness to obtain these.
  • Hold or willing to obtain an Employment Working With Children Check.
