Network Development Engineer, Internet Edge

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Development Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Edge Network team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and operating our global infrastructure. Your expertise in major internet routing protocols and Linux/Unix environments will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our network.
Key Responsibilities- Provide critical network operations support to Amazon.com customers to diagnose and respond to large-scale events
- Contribute to operational on-call rotating roster
- Operate and troubleshoot network routing, inter-connectivity, platforms, performance, and configurations issues; including necessary low-level application interaction, Unix systems, and new-age networking software tools
- Work closely with our automation teams in defining the tools that allow us to scale at higher
- Work closely with our Network/Systems & Software Engineering teams to ensure fast, smooth roll-out of new designs and products, as well as assist with deployment and sustaining of networking software tools
- Maintain standards across the networking toolset and ensure that we are fully compliant to those standards and policies
- Participate and drive impact mitigation during large-scale events utilizing an established Event Management process
- Drive event deep dives for large-scale events, deliver high-quality documentation for the events and drive corrective actions to completion
- Improve our detection mechanisms by designing - - Deliver simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes
- Collaborate with highest tier escalation engineers/resolvers
- Identify and drive opportunities to repeatable tasks through creation and maintenance of scripts and tools

Basic Qualifications- 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
- 4+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience
- Associate's degree
- 3+ years professional experience working in large-scale networking environments
- 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl experience
- 3+ years with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos
