Mathematics Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join our team at a college that collaborates with Youth Justice Precincts and Secure Care Units in Melbourne's West. As a Mathematics Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work with students aged 15-18 in small class settings, benefiting from excellent teacher support and well-being initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive math curriculum that aligns with The Victorian Curriculum
- Create engaging and interactive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
- Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively convey mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies
- Provide timely feedback to students on their performance and progress in math
- Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students, including providing additional support or challenges as needed
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on best practices in math education, teaching methodologies, and curriculum development
- Collaborate with other math teachers and school staff to share resources, ideas, and best practices
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Current VIT registration
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Maths within Secondary (Primary) setting in Australia
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years
- Full-time, starting from Term 1, 2025
- Ongoing opportunity
- Instructing students from ages 15-18
- Small classes of 5-8 students with a Youth Justice member present at all times
