About the Role:
A passionate Mathematics educator is sought to make a significant impact on the lives of students in a unique environment. Tradewind Australia is partnering with a college that collaborates with Youth Justice Precincts and Secure Care Units in Melbourne's West, offering an opportunity to work with students aged 15-18 in small class settings with excellent teacher support and well-being initiatives.

Job Description:

  • Teaching Maths: The successful candidate will teach Maths to students, tailoring lessons to meet their abilities within the Year P-10 Vic Curriculum.
  • Culturally Responsive Pedagogy: Emphasizing culturally responsive teaching strategies to foster growth and development among all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Maths Curriculum: Create a comprehensive Maths curriculum aligning with The Victorian Curriculum.
  • Engaging Lesson Plans: Design interactive lesson plans catering to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Effective Communication: Use various teaching methods and resources to convey mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies.
  • Feedback and Differentiation: Provide timely feedback to students and differentiate instruction to meet individual needs.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development, collaborate with other Maths teachers, and share resources and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Unrestricted Working Rights: Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia.
  • VIT Registration: Current VIT registration is required.
  • Previous Experience: Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Secondary Maths in a school setting in Australia.
  • References: Provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years.
