Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Lawyer with 6+ years' experience in the energy retail sector to join our team as a Senior Legal Counsel. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality legal support to the Board, Executive team, and all business units, ensuring the business minimizes legal risk.
Key Accountabilities:- Providing timely and commercial legal advice to internal stakeholders;
- Assisting with the preparation and review of agreements to maximize commercial outcomes and minimize legal risk;
- Legal review of marketing materials, customer collateral, training, and scripts;
- Management of legal disputes;
- Supporting the GM of Compliance in responding to regulator inquiries and information requests.
- Some Company Secretary and AFSL responsibilities.
Ideal candidates will have:
- 6+ years post-admission experience gained within the energy retail sector, Telco experience desirable;
- Ability to discuss/review key risks with key stakeholders;
- Excellent negotiation/influencing/drafting skills with the ability to effectively manage competing priorities;
- Highly developed, effective communication skills - both written & oral to deliver complex ideas and issues simply and powerfully;
- Strong attention to detail and knowledge of the areas of law outlined;
- Independent and self-motivated, flexible and resilient - able to adapt quickly;
- Commitment to professional excellence.
