The medical oncology unit at a major public healthcare provider is seeking a qualified medical oncology specialist to join their team. This is an opportunity for a medical oncologist to work in a multidisciplinary setting, participating in the management of breast cancer patients and attending weekly breast cancer multidisciplinary meetings.

About the Role
  • This role offers a chance to participate in clinical trials, provide in-patient and ambulatory patient care, and coordinate unit activities.
  • The successful candidate will be involved in assessing patients, determining and instigating appropriate investigations, and establishing management plans for patients in consultation with consultants.
  • The ideal candidate should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Able to assess patients' needs and develop individualized care plans to achieve optimal health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the multidisciplinary management of breast cancer patients.
  • Attend weekly breast cancer multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Assess patients, determine and instigate appropriate investigations, and establish management plans for patients in consultation with consultants.
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient care by assessing patients, determining and instigating appropriate investigations, and establishing management plans for patients in consultation with consultants.
  • Ensure discharge planning commences early in the process of care (inpatients only).
