Role Overview

The Head of Department (Curriculum) plays a pivotal role in shaping the academic trajectory of students at Fernbrooke State School. As a key member of the school's leadership team, this individual is responsible for driving educational excellence across various learning areas.

Focused on delivering high-quality learning outcomes, the successful candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of curriculum development, and the ability to inspire teachers and staff to strive for excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading Year Level Australian Curriculum planning and implementation
  • Moderating teaching practices to drive precision in English education
  • Coaching teachers and teacher aides in pedagogical approaches
  • Developing and implementing programs to support student learning improvement
  • Tracking teacher needs and student learning requirements

Additionally, the Head of Department will contribute to weekly year-level meetings and participate as an active member of the Leadership Strategic Team.
