We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Department Head to provide strategic leadership in curriculum planning, pedagogy, and teacher professional growth. The successful candidate will have the ability to establish a clear vision for the department aligned with the college's learning framework.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading pedagogy within the department and the college in developing and monitoring clear processes to support staff development. They will also be responsible for developing and disseminating units of work that meet authority and regulatory body requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing a clear vision for the department aligned with the college's learning framework

  • Developing and disseminating units of work that meet authority and regulatory body requirements
  • Identifying and supporting at-risk students within the department
  • Mentoring and supporting students in areas including academic improvement, organisation, and study skills specific to the department

The successful candidate will have:

  • Current Queensland Teacher Registration or capacity to obtain
  • Bachelor of Education or equivalent, and relevant experience, particularly in effective practice
  • Demonstrated achievement in school leadership
  • Demonstrated understanding of curriculum development and employing authority policy and procedure
