Job Description

About the Role

The State of Queensland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Change and Communications to join our team. As a key member of our HR Projects team, you will be responsible for spearheading our Change Management Strategy and overseeing critical functions, including Change and Communications Management Plans, UX Design, Personas, and Future State Process Mapping.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Change Management Strategies: Design and implement comprehensive change management strategies that align with organisational objectives and ensure effective change adoption.
  • Create and Execute Change Management Plans: Develop and execute detailed change management and communications plans that address stakeholder needs and promote engagement.
  • Lead UX Design Efforts: Lead UX design efforts and persona development to ensure user-centric solutions and enhance overall user experience.
  • Collaborate on Future State Processes: Collaborate with stakeholders to map out future state processes, ensuring they are optimised for UX and aligned with strategic goals.
  • Conduct Impact Assessments: Conduct thorough impact assessments to understand the effects of proposed changes and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee Training and Organisational Design: Oversee the development and delivery of training programs and organisational design efforts to support change initiatives and drive organisational effectiveness.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled professional with a proven track record in delivering large-scale complex transformation projects within a HR environment or similar. You will have:

Experience in Transformation Projects: Experience in delivering large-scale complex transformation projects within a HR environment or similar.Leadership and Management Skills: Proven success in leading and managing a high-performing team while ensuring quality human and financial resource management practices are adhered to.Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and negotiations skills at a senior level.Ability to Work with Stakeholders: The ability to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and other partners to achieve required outcomes.Research and Analytical Skills: Highly developed research, analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to plan, manage, and implement strategic solutions in managing outcomes for a large-scale project.Project Management Skills: Ability to understand project management methodology and support critical project-related activities.

Desirable Qualification

A change management certification with a recognised professional body (e.g. Prosci) would be highly regarded.
