The Automation Test Lead is responsible for overseeing and ensuring high quality test automation frameworks and scripts across software products.

This role requires experience with relevant tooling and a hands-on approach to developing automation frameworks and scripts. Active participation in proof-of-concepts and the creation of frameworks and scripts is expected.

  • Strategic Automation Planning:
    • Spearhead the creation, development, and implementation of automation solutions and frameworks that optimize business processes and enhance efficiency.
    • Work hand-in-hand with business, engineering, and broader QA teams to fully grasp their needs and translate those needs into effective technical automation solutions.
  • Project Management and Execution:
    • Oversee the management and upkeep of automation tools, frameworks, and infrastructure, ensuring high reliability and scalability.
    • Lead and prioritize multiple automation projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and mentor a team of automation engineers, including vendor or partner resources, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
    • Promote continuous improvement and encourage the adoption of best practices within the team, including vendor or partner resources.
  • Risk Management & Quality Assurance:
    • Monitor testing progress, identifying any risks, blockers, or issues, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to resolve them.
    • Ensure that defects are tracked and resolved according to agreed-upon timelines, and report on defect trends to highlight areas of concern.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • 5 years of experience in a test automation role with at least 3+ years in a leadership capacity.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and partner teams in a testing leadership role, overseeing their deliverables and ensuring alignment with program objectives.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Tricentis TOSCA).
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), and modern testing practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
